BOTSWANA MINING & ENERGY CONFERENCE AND EXPO (BME)

Botswana Mining & Energy Conference and Expo is the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region’s largest and only international mining, energy, investment, power & construction Expo. The 2025 edition will be held from 7-8 April at Gaborone Fairgrounds.

Held annually in Gaborone since 2023, attendees can expect to learn from leading industry experts on topics critical to mining, energy and renewables. These experts are from the government and private sector across Botswana and Southern Africa region. Besides knowledge acquisition, attendees can also network with them and gain valuable connections.

Beyond the conference, expo visitors can also meet up with representatives across various sectors related to the mining, energy and renewables industry at the exhibition and open up new business opportunities.

With the newly elected government in 2024, there is certainly momentum for change and for the country’s economy to not just rely on its established diamond industry. Beyond mining, Botswana is also positioning itself to be Africa’s solar energy powerhouse and for renewables to be 30% of Botswana’s energy mix by 2030. Opportunities are thus abound for investors and companies interested to develop Botswana’s abundant natural resources.
