WIKA secures $13m conveyor belt project

Indonesia-listed construction firm PT Wijaya Karya Tbk (WIKA), a publicly listed construction company, has secured a US$13 million contract from PT Aneka Tambang (Antam) to build a conveyor belt system in the mining company?s nickel mine site in Pomala, Southeast Sulawesi.
WIKA corporate secretary Natal Pardede said in Jakarta on Tuesday that the contract would be formally signed in the middle of this month.
The construction of the 400- meter conveyor will be carried out in 17 months so that it could begin operation in the middle of 2013, he added as quoted by Kontan
Although formally signed in January 2012 this project is considered as 2011 effort. With the addition of the conveyor into WIKA?s project list, the value of all contracts booked during 2011 reached Rp 25.1 trillion, exceeding the initial target of Rp 25.043 trillion. (*)
