Wayang Windu Unit-3 exploration drilling to start soon

Geothermal developer Star Energy Geothermal Ltd will soon start exploration drilling for the Wayang Windu Unit-3 geothermal power plant project in Pangalengan, Bandung Regency, West Java Province.

This was said by Hendra Soejipto Tan, Group CEO of Star Energy to Petromindo.com on the sidelines of 9th Indonesia International Geothermal Convention & Exhibition (IIGCE) in Jakarta last week.

"For Wayang Windu Unit-3 we will start the exploration drilling soon because the resources are already there," he said, without disclosing details.

According to the company’s website, Star Energy completed the construction of Wayang Windu Unit-1 with a capacity of 113.5 MW in 1999, which started production in 2000.  The Wayang Windu Unit-2 with a capacity of 117 MW started operations in March 2009.

The estimated capacity of Wayang Windu Unit-3 is 23 MW.
