Sulawesi nickel miner and processor PT Vale Indonesia Tbk (IDX: INCO) has announced the opening of its coal procurement process, inviting eligible companies to express interest in supplying coal to the company. The procurement will involve two specifications of coal, with an estimated 340,000 metric tons per year for Specification 1 and 168,000 metric tons per year for Specification 2.
The company is seeking national companies that hold IUP/IUPK/PKP2B licenses or coal trading companies that meet the necessary qualifications to participate in the procurement process.
The scope of work involves the supply of coal under two different specifications. The first specification requires an estimated 340,000 metric tons per year, while the second requires 168,000 metric tons per year.
Interested companies are required to submit a letter of interest along with supporting documents to ptvi.categoryprocurement.receivingcell@vale.com. Required documents include a copy of the company’s Deed of Establishment and any amendments (if applicable), a copy of the Business Identification Number (NIB), and proof of IUP/IUPK/PKP2B license. For coal trading companies, they must also provide evidence of ownership of the IUP/IUPK/PKP2B of the coal source. Additionally, companies should submit a list of their previous coal procurement experience and details about the coal source location in the Contract of Affreightment (COA). They should also provide information about their production capacity, including the approved annual production plan, and details regarding the loading port location and its specifications.
The deadline for submitting documents is Friday, April 25, 2025, by 3:00 PM WITA. Only companies that meet the criteria will be invited to proceed with the tender process.
