Trias Jaya secures nickel export permit

Nickel mining company, PT Trias Jaya Agung has secured permit to export nickel ores to China within two years before the company is required to build smelter facility, official said.

Trias Jaya, located in Kabaena Island in Southeast Sulawesi, has an export quota of 1.05 million wet tons (wmt), said Sahrun, Head of General Mining Division at the Mining and Energy Department at the Bombana Regency as quoted by Antara.

?After the two year export period, Trias must build a smelter or partner with other companies that already have smelter,? he said.

The company?s export destination is Lian Yun Gang Port in China, with nickel quality of 1.8 percent and higher. (*)
