South Kalimantan Governor Sjachriel Darham said that the banning of opening new coal operation in the U.S. was a huge opportunity for local coal exporters to expand their market.
"South Kalimantan coal miners must seek information who are the potential buyers," Sjachriel.
"We must penetrate the U.S. and even the European market," he added.
Sjachriel forecast that investors from outside the province would soon come in to capitalize on the promising coal export business.
He added that to anticipate the increase in the coal export volume in the future, the province must immediately complete the upgrading of its river transportation system.(*)
