Oil lifting at the recently-discovered Sungai Anggur Selatan (SAS)-1 well in the Belida block, onshore South Sumatra, has doubled to 2,000 BOPD from the maiden output of 1,000 BOPD.
This was said by Wahyu Wibowo, Deputy for Exploitation at upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas, in a statement issued following an impromptu visit to the project on Friday.
“In this inspection, the Deputy for Exploration directly saw the SAS-1 well which was already operating with a lifting of 2,000 BOPD on Friday 29 December 2023,” the statement said.

PT Sele Raya Belida, the operator of the Belida block, was quoted by local media reports as saying previously that it would start production at the SAS-1 discovery in November at an initial output rate of 1,000 BOPD and then ramp up to 2,000 BOPD in the following month.
The company made the discovery early late last year and required only 11 months to bring the discovery into production.
The Belida Block is located onshore South Sumatera, with a retained surface area of 678.11 km2 and situated within the South Sumatra Basin. The Company made its first oil discovery at the Belida Block in August 2008. Today it operates two fields in the Belida Block: Cantik Field and Sungai Anggur Field.
“Next year we will drill again and in the near future will carry out seismic," said Seleraya Belida Project Field Manager, Wawan Isworo in the SKK Migas statement.
