Small-sized shoemaker CV Leony in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan dropped plans to sue French oil and gas company Total Indonesia following the latter's promise to soon make payment for the safety shoes bought from the former, Kaltim Post daily reported.
"We appreciate Total's goodwill to settle the case. We cancelled the lawsuit plans following the company's promise to transfer the payment in three days," Leony's director Nefone Esther D said on Sunday.
Leony earlier planned to sue Total for Rp 3 billion in compensation following the latter's failure to make payment for 195 pairs of safety shoes worth Rp 45 million supplied by Leony.
According to Nefone, Total's accounting division had rejected the invoices sent by Leony for unclear reasons.
Head of Total's communication department Nurul Fazri said on Monday the case resulted from a "miscommunication".
He said Total's accounting division in Jakarta would make the payment on Tuesday. (*)
