World?s leading lateritic ore nickel miner and refiner giant Sherritt International Corporation recently stated it expects to start exploration drilling on its Sulawesi Project early 2013.

This is deferred from the earlier estimate of second-half 2012 due to delays in receiving the Forestry Borrow and Use Permit from the Ministry of Forestry and the resolution of overlapping claims within the mining concession.

"Work continues to advance the environmental and social baseline studies and the prefeasibility study; all remain scheduled for completion in 2013," the company said in a statement. Sherrits previously said that the anticipated total spending on the resource drilling program will amount to $22 million.
