Physical
Transactions were scarce amid still robust freight prices and a widening bid-offer gap. Market sources said that despite supply tightness, there have been offers for mid c.v. material from Central Kalimantan and South Sumatra this week. "Buyers are dealing with higher landed costs and this has resulted in a generally quiet week," a trading source from Jakarta said. Low c.v. coal traded at around $46.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for a May loading geared vessel, while deals for June were heard settled at $43.50-45.25/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for a June loading geared vessel. On a China-delivered basis, a May arrival Panamax traded at $59.50/t CFR, basis 3,800 kc NAR, easing on the week from $60.80/t CFR, same basis.
