Indonesian coal prices declined modestly on the week as interest from China and India weakened. While most miners said they had sold out, any parcels held by traders were understood to be difficult to sell into the export market. Deals for low-rank coal were heard done at $28.00-28.25/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for November loading geared vessels, lower than where deals for the month concluded last week at $28.50/t FOB, same basis. Value for December loading geared vessels was heard at $28.00-29.50/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, depending on laycan and destination. Last week, deals for December concluded at $28.00-29.80/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for geared vessels. A December market was heard bid at $28.50/t FOB, basis 4,200 kc GAR, against an offer at $30.00/t FOB, same basis.

The Indonesian futures market saw multiple deals concluded for M42 via SGX, though at lower levels on the week. Trades for November settled at $28.50-28.75/t, declining from transacted levels a week ago at $29.00-29.55/t. December loading parcels traded at $29.50-29.90/t, down from deals done at $30.00-30.40/t last week.
