Indonesian coal prices fell further over the week, with a lack of demand from China and India persisting. "The bid-offer gap is still wide," said a source from a major Indonesian miner. Low c.v. coal traded for July at $25.00-25.25/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR, for a geared vessel, while a July loading Panamax was also heard transacting into the South East Asian market at $29.50/t FOB, basis 4,200 kc GAR, for a gearless vessel. Deals for June loading low-rank coal settled at $24.80-26.65/t FOB, same basis.
Paper
M42 trading activity remained high over the week with 166,000 t transacting clearing via SGX. Deals for June were reported at $26.00-26.50/t, firming slightly on the week from $25.60/t. July M42 transacted at $25.65-26.65/t with prices easing through the week. The Q3 contract traded at $26.10-26.70/t, while a deal for Q4 settled at $26.85/t.
