President Prabowo Subianto has appointed Rosan Roeslani as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Indonesia’s newly established sovereign wealth fund, the Investment Management Agency (BPI) Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara). Despite this new role, Roeslani will continue to serve as the Minister of Investment, according to Presidential Communications Chief Hasan Nasbi.
"He will remain a minister," Nasbi confirmed at the Presidential Palace Complex on Monday, February 24, 2025.
Roeslani's appointment comes as the country officially launched BPI Danantara, marking Indonesia's first sovereign wealth fund. The fund is designed to optimize the management of the country's wealth through strategic investments.

In addition to Roeslani's appointment, the government has made key appointments within Danantara's leadership team. Pandu Patria Sjahrir will serve as the Chief Investment Officer (CIO), responsible for overseeing investment operations. Dony Oskaria has been named the Chief Operating Officer (COO), with a focus on operational matters.
"Dony Oskaria will oversee operational holding, as Danantara consists of two holdings—an operational holding and an investment holding. Pandu Sjahrir will manage the investment holding," explained Nasbi.
The supervisory board of Danantara will be led by Erick Thohir, who has been appointed Chairman, while Muliaman Hadad will serve as the Deputy Chairman.
Initially, BPI Danantara will manage dividends from seven major state-owned enterprises (SOEs): Bank Mandiri, Bank BRI, BNI, PLN, Pertamina, Telkom Indonesia, and MIND ID. Looking to the future, the sovereign wealth fund is expected to manage assets exceeding $900 billion (approximately Rp 14,670 trillion). If successful, Danantara would become the largest asset management body in Indonesia, drawing comparisons to Singapore's Temasek Holdings Limited.
