Australian-listed firm Robust Resources Limited said it had appointed Gordon Lewis as an executive director to further strengthen the Company?s leadership of its Indonesian projects.

The company stated in a press release on Tuesday that the appointment would be effective immediately.

It noted that Lewis was a mining engineer with more than 40 years industry experience, including five years at Board level with junior mining companies. He was the founding mining manager of Rio Tinto?s large 7 Moz Kelian mine in Indonesia, and he led the acquisition and development of Indonesia?s first successful heap leach operation at Lanut in Sulawesi, for Avocet Mining PLC.

Gordon Lewis first joined Robust as Chief Operating Officer (COO) in May 2011, a position he retained in addition to his directorship.

In his role as COO, Lewis is leading the Lakuwahi Oxide Gold-Silver Project Scoping Study, which is scheduled for completion by mid 2012.

Lewis holds a BEng, MEng, and a First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency (South Australia). He is a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining & Metallurgy.

The chairman of Robust Resources, Dr. David King, welcomed Lewis to the Board, saying that his appointment had demonstrated Robust?s commitment to the development of the Lakuwahi Project.

?We are delighted to have appointed Gordon Lewis to the Board as he brings us an outstandingly high level of technical and in-country experience and leadership in both mine development and innovative processing techniques. The skills he brings will be invaluable at board level as we move the Romang Island projects through the study phases and into production," Dr. King said.
