RMK Group, a coal logistics firm operating in Sumatra, has divested its coal port asset in Jambi, PT Central Mulia Kencana (CMK), which serves multiple coal producers in the province.
“We divested CMK in December last year and are now focusing on developing a new coal port in Mendalo Laut, which will be integrated with a hauling road to Sarolangun,” Vincent Saputra, President Director of PT RMK Energy Tbk (IDX: RMKE), told Petromindo on Monday without disclosing further details.

The planned facility will be linked to three recently acquired coal mines in Sarolangun Regency—PT Sinar Anugerah Sukses (SAS), PT Anugerah Jambi Coalindo (AJC), and PT Bakti Sarolangun Sejahtera (BSS)—through RMK Group’s subsidiary, PT Nusantara Bara Tambang (NBT).
The new port will feature three barge-loading conveyors and one manual loading station, with the capacity to handle 300-foot barges. It will connect to a 109-km hauling road operated by PT SAS, enabling coal shipments via the Batanghari River to the Muara Sabak Anchorage Point.
