Regent criticizes Adaro's lack of care

Regent of Hulu Sungai Utara in South Kalimantan criticized coal mining company PT Adaro Indonesia, a subsidiary of Australian mining firm BHP Pty. Ltd, for refusing to help finance the reading koran event in the regency, Banjarmasin Post reported.

"It is unfortunate that Adaro, which has been long operating here, has never provided a single cent to help finance such events," regent Suhailin said.

Suhailin further said the company had never cared about the local people's aspirations and the regency administration would take appropriate measures in response to this. (*)
