PTNNT pays Rp 3.263 trillion in tax and non tax to govt in Q2

PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara (PTNNT) paid Rp 3.263 trillion for all financial obligations to the government, including taxes, non taxes, and royalties in second quarter this year. The payment was made in accordance with the provisions of the Contract of Work.

?PTNNT always fulfills its financial obligations to the government in a timely manner and complies with all tax regulations. Therefore, since 2003, the company continuously gets a compliant tax payer status from the government,? said Arif Perdanakusumah, PTNNT?s Senior Manager for External Relations.

The largest payment in this quarter includes corporate income tax valued at Rp 3.108 trillion, followed by personal income tax of Rp 43 billion. Meanwhile, payment of production royalties reached Rp 32 billion.

If compared to the payment of taxes, non-taxes, and royalties in Q1/2011 of Rp 1.410 trillion, there is an increase up to Rp 1.853 trillion in Q2/2011. The increase is partly attributable to additional payment for underpaid corporate income tax and the increased installment payment of corporate income tax for 2011.

In 2010 PTNNT had paid Rp 5.761 trillion. Since 1999 to second quarter of 2011, PTNNT has paid taxes, non-taxes, and royalties in the total amount of Rp 25.942 trillion to the state.

In addition to direct financial benefits to the government, PTNNT generates other economic benefits through payment of salaries to approximately 4000 employees and 3000 contractors, goods and services procurement both local and national, as well as community development programs. (romel)
