The Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLH) honored companies for their environmental performance at the annual PROPER Awards held in Jakarta on Monday. A total of 4,495 companies were assessed for their environmental management practices throughout 2024.
The PROPER program evaluates businesses based on a range of criteria, with ratings spanning from Emas (Gold) for the highest environmental achievements, to Hitam (Black), marking poor performance. This year, 85 companies received the Emas (Gold) award, while 227 were recognized with Hijau (Green), and 2,649 with Biru (Blue).
However, 1,313 companies were rated Merah (Red) for inadequate environmental practices, and 16 companies received the Hitam (Black) designation, indicating significant environmental management issues.
The awards aim to promote sustainability and encourage businesses to improve their environmental stewardship.
