Mining services firm PT Putra Perkasa Abadi (PPA), through its subsidiary PT Antareja Mahada Makmur (AMM), has recently obtained a six-year mining contract from PT Perkasa Inakakerta (PIK), a subsidiary of the Bayan Group.
Operations at the PIK coal mine, located in Kutai Timur Regency, East Kalimantan Province, commenced in early February.
Djoko Purwanto, the Operation Division Head of PPA, announced to petromindo.com on Friday: "The contract spans six years. For 2024, our target is the removal of 16 million bank cubic meters (bcm) of overburden (OB) and the production of 2 million tons of coal. In 2025, we aim to increase the OB removal to 30 million bcm."
