The East Kalimantan police is now investigating an alleged Rp 4 billion corruption in joint venture coal mining company PT Arutmin BHP.
Police public relations chief Lt. Col. Faah Sumarno said that three Arutmin employees and a contractor identified as Totok, Firmansyah, Agus and Sukardi had been positively named as suspects.
"We're still investigating this case," he said.
The alleged corruption was unveiled after an internal audit team from Australia conducted its investigation last year. The audit team was asked to come over by the company's management team on suspicion of the company's operational expenditure.
The paper said that the alleged corruption in the purchase of spare parts and transportation cost by marking up the expenditure seemed to have been going on for years.
Arutmin is 80 percent owned by Australia's BHP, and 20 percent owned by Indonesia's Bakrie Group. (*)
