PLTP Rantau Dedap to start operation in February 2021

Construction progress of PLTP Rantau Dedap geothermal power plant project in Muara Enim, South Sumatra Province, has now reached 73.07 percent, according to Director of Geothermal at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ida Nuryatin. 

The 2x49.2 MW PLTP Rantau Dedap project, developed by PT Supreme Energy Rantau Dedap (SERD), is targeted to start commercial operation in February 2021.

“Four well pads and six wells at exploration stage have been developed, and 18 wells in 7 well pads have been drilled (including 12 development wells),” Ida said on Tuesday.

“Civil and EPC construction works have been implemented in parallel to meet the November 2020 (original) target to complete (the project), although there’s possibility for the completion of the project to be extended to January 2021,” she added.
