State-owned power generating company PT PLN Nusantara Power (PLN NP) through its subsidiary PLN NP Services has recently taken over the operation and maintenance (O&M) responsibilities of the 50 MW Bima gas engine power plant in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province.
PLN NP said in a recent statement that a ceremony was held on 5 April to mark the handover of the O&M of the Bima gas engine power plant (PLTMG) from MAN Energy Solutions to state-owned electricity firm PT PLN’s NTB regional unit.

Subsequently, the power plant assets were transferred to PLN NP, and PLN NP entrusted the management of the PLTMG to PLN NP Services through an asset management contract (AMC).
This German-made PLTMG is capable of meeting the electricity needs equivalent to 50,000 households with a capacity of 1,000 Watts, or approximately 37% of the electricity demand in the Bima region and surrounding areas distributed through the Tambora system. PLN NP Services said it is committed to consistently providing the best contribution to illuminate the Archipelago.
MAN Energy completed the construction of the Bima PLTMG in April 2019 and assumed operation control of the plant under a 5-year O&M contract with PLN.
