Pertamina to mobilize funds for Bengkulu

State oil and gas company Pertamina, plans mobilize funds from its production sharing contractors to help finance the reconstruction of damaged roads and public utilities in the quake stricken Bengkulu, Neraca reported on Friday.

Baihaki Hakim, the president of the state oil and gas company said a special team was assessing the damages caused by the quake to estimate the cost for the reconstruction of the damaged roads, schools and other public utilities.

"We should know first which ones that we need to rehabilitate ? the funding is number second," the former president of PT Caltex Pacific Indonesia said during his visit at the quake stricken province on Thursday.

Baihaki and several other top executives were part of Vice President Megawati Sukarnoputri's entourage to the province. Pertamina, the ministry of mines and energy, the state electricity company PLN symbolically handed over donations to help the quake victims. (*)
