Pertamina starts operating jet fuel terminal at DEO Airport Sorong

State-owned energy company PT Pertamina has on Thursday (21/11) started the operation of jet fuel terminal (DPPU) at Domine Eduard Osok (DEO) Airport in Sorong, West Papua.

The the operation of the jet fuel terminal was officiated by Vice President Operation & Services of PT Pertamina, Kusumo Wibowo, accompanied by Vice President Reliability & Project Development of Pertamina, Budi YP Hutagaol, General Manager Marketing Operation Region VIII of Pertamina, Gema Iriandus Pahalawan, as well as Assistant I of Sorong Major, Rachman.

The jet fuel terminal contains 3 aviation jet fuel tanks with capacity of 500 kilo liters (kl), water tank with capacity of 700 kl, 4 water pump with volume of 70 cubic meters per hour, filter separation, Terminal Automation System, civil facilities (office building)  as well as HSSE facilities (fire fighters, pump, etc).

Kusumo Wibowo said Sorong is one of gateways to the eastern Indonesia, in particular to other parts of the West Papua region. “The presence of DEO Airport Sorong influences the development of tourism industry because tourism sector is growing in Papua,” he said.
