Pertamina fights gas eruption in Jambi

The state oil and gas company Pertamina is still fighting the natural gas eruption in Sengeti area, Muara Jambi regency, Jambi province, by sending a dozen of experts and heavy equipments.
Kompas daily reported that the gas eruption started on April 11.
Pertamina Jambi office public relations officer Bambang Sumantir was quoted by the paper as saying that there was three large points of eruption when the gas outburst started, but since Sunday there was only one major eruption point left.
The eruption points were located near an active Pertamina oil field and the local market.
The paper said that some 112 people had been evacuated to avoid the risk of explosion.(*)
