Pertamina drills Malendong oil well

The state oil and gas firm Pertamina is drilling the Malendong oil well - some 25 Km east of Pamanukan in West Java -- which is estimated to have 67.98 million barrel of oil reserves.

Pertamina official Supriyanto said that the drilling started on March 5 and was expected to be completed in 60 days.

He said that the depth of the oil well was around 2,700 meters below sea level.

He said that Pertamina had so far reached one third of the depth. (*)
