MEMR launches fuel-to-gas program for farmers, fishermen

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) and state-owned energy company PT Pertamina on Tuesday signed an implementing work agreement to carry out the fuel-to-gas conversion program for 2020 with a total expenditure of Rp290 billion.

Acting Director-General for Oil and Gas Ego Syahrial called on parties to carry out the program prudently and responsibly as the program reaches out the common people.

At the signing ceremony, Pertamina was represented by SVP Holding of Pertamina Joko Eko and Director for Marketing Subholding Commercial and Trading, Jumali.

At the signing ceremony, Ego Syahrial was accompanied by the Director for Planning and Oil and Gas Infrastructure Development, Alimuddin Baso.

He said the program aims to reach out to 4 million farmers and fishermen. The MEMR  kicked off the program in early October, targeting 17 provinces, 42 regencies across the nation.

In this program, each participant or beneficiary of the fuel-to-gas (BBG) conversion program will get a converter kid.
