Jhonlin Group unit wins 63-year concession for Setangga Terminal

The Ministry of Transportation of Indonesia has granted PT Dua Samudera Perkasa, a subsidiary of Jhonlin Group, a 63-year concession to manage Setangga Terminal at Kotabaru Port in South Kalimantan, the Ministry said.

The concession agreement was formalized during a signing ceremony on Friday (March 14) at the Directorate General of Sea Transportation headquarters in Jakarta. The agreement was signed by Taufan Eka Putra, Head of Kotabaru – Batulicin Class II Harbor Master and Port Authority Office (KSOP), and Efgar Welmar Santos, President Director of PT Dua Samudera Perkasa. The event was witnessed by Antoni Arif Priadi, Director General of Sea Transportation, along with other officials from the Ministry.

The agreement grants PT Dua Samudera Perkasa the right to manage the port terminal for the next six decades, with the company agreeing to a 5% concession fee based on gross revenue. The initial investment is valued at Rp 3.669 trillion, the Ministry said.

“This partnership will contribute to improving the efficiency and competitiveness of port services at, which plays a critical role in supporting Indonesia's logistics infrastructure,” said Antoni Arif Priadi in a statement.

The Ministry added that the concession aligns with Indonesia’s maritime regulations, including Law No. 17 of 2008 on Shipping and its recent amendment under Law No. 66 of 2024, which mandates that port services be operated through concessions.

Under the agreement, Dua Samudera Perkasa will provide a range of port services, including docking facilities, fuel and water supply, cargo handling, and warehousing. The company will also manage terminal services for containers and bulk cargo, including liquid and dry bulk.

Antoni expressed confidence that the agreement would generate economic benefits both for the local economy in South Kalimantan and for Indonesia’s national trade logistics.

Dua Samudera Perkasa, a port management company, is part of the diversified Jhonlin Group. The company also operates other ports, including Kodeco and Sungai Dua, which support the Jhonlin Group’s coal and iron ore operations.
