State-owned electricity firm PT PLN has managed to complete interconnection of a 150 kV transmission line linking the PLTP Muara Laboh geothermal power plant in Solok Selatan Regency, West Sumatra Province, with the GI Muara Laboh substation and the 275 kV GI Sungai Rumbai in Dhamasraya Regency, also in the province.
News portal tribunews.com reported that a ceremony was held on Thursday to mark the occasion, attended by PLN official, local government officials, and contractors assigned to develop the power infrastructure facilities.
The transmission line is developed by PT Rekadaya Elektrika, a subsidiary of PT Pembangkitan Java Bali, which is a subsidiary of PLN.
The 80 MW PLTP Muara Laboh is expected to start commercial operation in November, said Ismoyo Argo, Senior Manager Business Relations of Supreme Energy, the owner of the PLTP Muara Laboh project, on August 13. Supreme Energy plans to develop a second unit with capacity of 140 MW, targeted to start operation in 2024.
