India wants to buy LNG from Indonesia

India wanted to buy liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Indonesia, Suara Pembaruan daily reported.

The intention was expressed by Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee to visiting President Abdurrahman Wahid on Tuesday.

Abdurrahman said he welcome the intention and asked Minister of Foreign Affairs Alwi Shihab to discuss the details of the LNG sale-purchase with his Indian counterpart.

He said he would further talk about the matter with Minister of Mines and Energy Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in Jakarta. (*)
