Gulf sends 40 farmers for training

Oil and gas contractor PT Gulf Indonesia has sent some 40 farmers living near the company's operation in Ramba and Grissik, South Sumatra province, to be trained in the Bogor agriculture center in the West Java province.
CEO W.T. Fanagan said that this was part of the company's community development program.
He said that Gulf would also provide financial assistance to the farmers to start their own farming business. He added that the company would also hire consultants to assist the in the running of the farming business.
He said that the 40 farmers were expected to transfer their knowledge to their colleagues back home. (*)
