Govt grants "clean and clear? status to 373 IUP holders

The government has granted a much-awaited ?clean and clear" status to 373 mining business permits of both coal and mineral mining companies as part of the efforts to resolve the long-standing overlapping issues of mining concessions.

Director General of Mineral and Coal at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Thamrin Sihite announced the the names of companies with clear and status on February 28. These companies have been verified to have no overlapping area issue with any other mining permit holder.

In July, the ministry awarded the clear and clean status to 1,509 IUP holders.
