The Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry is currently drafting a ministerial regulation on reporting method of exploration results for both coal and mineral mining companies which would formalize among others mechanism and format of exploration report.
Under the draft, holders of the mining business permits (IUP) are required to submit written report on exploration data to the authorities that can be the minister, governor or regent depending on where the concession area is located.
The companies securing the IUP production should also submit the operational plans of the companies.
?The draft would also stipulate sanctions for mining companies and local administration for submitting an incorrect or wrong report on exploration results,? Edi Prasodjo, Director of Coal Business Development at the ministry said.
He did not elaborate when the regulation would be issued.
