Geo Dipa doubles 2019 capex

Geothermal power producer PT Geo Dipa Energi plans capital expenditure (capex) of up to Rp 1 trillion this year, compared to last year’s Rp 500 billion. News portal katadata.co.id quoted Geo Dipa President Director Riki Firmanda Ibrahim as saying that the capex will be used among others for maintenance of its geothermal power plant and capacity expansion in Dieng, Central Java Province.

He said that the company also plans to carry out drilling of ten wells at its Patuha geothermal area in West Java Province next year. Geo Dipa currently operates two geothermal power plants (PLTPs), namely the PLTP Patuha Unit 1 with capacity of 60 MW in West Java, and PLTP Dieng 60 MW in Central Java.

The company is planning to develop unit 2 and 3, each with capacity of 55 MW in Patuha, and unit 2 and 3 in Dieng, also each with capacity of 55 MW. (*)
