ASX-listed Robust Resources Limited reported that assay results from three diamond holes drilled at the Batu Perak prospect in the Lakuwahi Caldera, Romang Island interested polymetallic mineralization of potentially economic grade.
The results from LWD221 which was collared approximately 80 meters north-east of the Batu Perak discovery-hole LWD19O, intersected a thick zone of strong, gold-and-silver-rich, polymetallic, breccia hosted mineralization which included a high-grade section.
The geology of the mineralization at Batu Perak is different to the earlier discoveries at Batu Mas, Batu Hitam and Batu Jagung. The Batu Perak mineralization occurs in an area of low relief and in the area of LWD190/221 is capped by approximately 35 meters of caldera-fill sediments and epiclastic volcanic fragmental.
Robust Managing Director, Mr. Gary Lewis said: ?While we actively progress the development of a heap leach gold-silver project on Romang Island , continued exploration remains a key priority for the company.?
?These new assay results are further evidence of the extensive mineralization across Romang Island. The Batu Perak zone is shaping up to be a major new discovery and it will likely make a contribution to increasing our resource estimate.
?Our geologists are optimistic that Lakuwahi and in particular Batu Perak, has the potential for hosting a high-grade polymetallic sulphide ore body. Robust will continue to explore the prospect whilst concurrently advancing our activities towards gold, silver and potentially manganese production.?
