Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) said the development of city gas distribution network in the city of Dumai, Riau province has been completed.
As many as 4,743 households (SR) in Teluk Binjai and Jaya Mukti village administrations have been connected with the city gas network.
With installation of the city gas network, each household could save Rp60,000-Rp90,000 per month. They are also able to use cleaner energy, compared to using liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
The gas for the Dumai city is supplied by PT Energi Mega Persada (EMP) Bentu. The gas is, then, distributed to households by the state-controlled gas distribution firm PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk, which is also the developer of the gas city network in Dumai, said Director for Planning and Development of Oil and Gas at the MEMR, Alimuddin Baso, said.
