Council holds public consultation over planned revision of SEZ regulations

The National Council for Special Economic Zone has met with industrial players for public consultation process in relation to planned revision of Government Regulation No 96/2015 on incentives for investors in special economic zones (SEZ) and Government Regulation No 2/2011 on the managing SEZ.
Deputy Chairman of the National Council for SEZ, Elen Setiadi was quoted by Antara as saying Friday that among of the top issues being discussed at the public consultation meeting is tax incentives such as tax holiday to be provided by the government to help lure more investment into SEZ.
She said that under the proposed revision of Government Regulation No 96, minimum investment of Rp 20 billion may be entitled to tax holiday. Under the current regulation, investors must invest at least Rp 500 billion in SEZ to be able to obtain tax holiday.
Purchase or lease of land or building at SEZ will also be exempted from income tax and value added tax. Investment in certain services sector will also be entitled to personal income tax reduction. (*)
