PT Caltex Pacific Indonesia, the country's largest oil producer, has been accused of being unfair in the tender for the procurement of its seamless pipes, Suara Karya reported on Wednesday.
K. Hartono, one of the bidders for the procurement of the Rp 100 billion (Rp1-$7,800) seamless pipes, said on Tuesday that Caltex changed the qualifications for the participants when the bidding was in progress in favor of big bidders.
"The changes automatically disqualified small bidders. It seemed that the change was only made for the sake of large bidders such as PT Citra Tubindo and PT Seamless Pipe Indonesia," he told a press conference.
Hartono also said that the tender procedure applied by Caltex was against the law, which said that all companies should be treated equally. (*)
