The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the country’s oil and gas import value increased by 25.28 percent in March to US$3.02 billion compared to February.
“The increase was (primarily due to an increase in crude oil (import) by 54.18 percent and (fuel) oil by 21.09 percent,” said Imam Machdi, a deputy of BPS, on Monday.

He, however, said that if compared to the same month of last year, the March 2023 oil and gas import value declined by 13.67 percent. He did not provide further details.
The upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas reported earlier that the country’s oil lifting in the first quarter of this year stood at 613,700 bopd, up from 611,700 bopd in the corresponding period of last year.
