The management of state oil and gas company Pertamina's refinery in Balongan, Indramayu, West Java at last bowed the pressure of its contract workers to raise their salaries, Republika daily reported.
Refinery spokesman Suwandi said on Thursday the workers, who have been holding strike since Wednesday, would get a raise starting April, but the amount of the raise had yet to be decided by the refinery's management.
He said the raise would be adjusted to the financial capability of Pertamina and the minimum-salary standard set by the government for the area. (*)
