Audit body corrects Pertamina's cost recovery report

The Financial Comptroller Agency (BPKP) has found a total of Rp 3.75 trillion in cost recovery in Pertamina as unacceptable over the past five years, Bisnis Indonesia daily reported.
BPKP head Arie Soelendro said on Thursday in a hearing with the House of Representatives' Commission IX for finance and development planning that the amount of cost recovery in Pertamina which was considered by the audit body unacceptable totaled Rp 586 billion in the fiscal year1994/1995.
The amount dropped to Rp 547 billion in 1995/1995, Rp 28 billion in 1996/1997 and Rp 108 billion in 1997/1998. The amount then rose to Rp 2.5 trillion in 1998/1999, he said.
Soelendro further said the amount of cost recovery in Pertamina's production sharing contractors which was considered unacceptable totalled Rp 64 billion in 1994/1995. The amount dropped to Rp 60 billion in 1995/1996 before increasing to Rp 156 billion in 1996/1997, Rp 239 billion in 1997/1998 and Rp 454 billion in 1998/1999. (*)
