U.S.-based power delivery solution firm American Electric Technologies, Inc. (AETI) has entered into an agreement to provide custom-designed M&I Electric power delivery system components to Chevron Geothermal Indonesia, a subsidiary of U.S. energy major Chevron Texaco.
Under the agreement, AETI will provide custom-designed M&I Electric power delivery system components to Chevrons? Darajat geothermal power plant in Garut, West Java, the firm said in a statement on Monday.
The Darajat geothermal facility has a total capacity of 259 MW.
The company did not disclose the value of contract.
"This contract in Indonesia fits with AETI's focus on delivering power delivery solutions for the renewable energy market, and we are pleased to be involved in the development of this geothermal energy project," it said.
The firm said it had also entered into its third Asian joint venture partnership in Jakarta, to market power delivery products for the country's burgeoning power generation and oil and gas markets.
AETI's Singapore joint venture, M&I Electric Far East (MIEFE), will have 45 percent ownership of the new joint venture and will be managed by Bernard Chia who has 15 years of management, sales and marketing experience in the oil and gas industry in Indonesia. (denny)
