The paper quoted Vice President Director of Adaro Power Dharma Djojonegoro as saying the company is currently participating in a pre-qualification tender for the two projects held by state-owned electricity firm PT PLN.
He added that the company is teaming up with Singapore?s Sembcorp Utilities Pte Ltd.
The PLTGU Jawa-Bali 3 project, with capacity of 500 MW, is planned to be developed in Banten Province, while the PLTGU Jawa-Bali 4 project with capacity of 450 MW will be located in West Java.
Dharma said that aside from coal-fired power plant projects, Adaro is also interested in gas-fired power plants, which will play greater role in the country?s future energy mix.
Adaro has started developing a number of coal-fired power plant projects as part of strategy to diversify from coal. (*)
