Position: Alignment Engineer

Location: On-Site

Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience

Industry: Mining

Key Responsibilities:

• Equipment Alignment: Perform precision alignment of rotating equipment such as conveyors, crushers, mills, and pumps using advanced tools like laser alignment equipment.

• Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular alignment checks as part of preventive maintenance programs to ensure optimal performance and prevent mechanical failures.

• Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Identify and rectify misalignment issues that lead to operational inefficiencies, vibrations, or equipment damage.

• Precision Measurement: Utilize precision measuring instruments (e.g., dial indicators, micrometers) to ensure proper alignment and adjust as necessary.

• Vibration Analysis: Monitor and analyze vibration data to detect early signs of misalignment or wear in rotating machinery and take corrective action.

• Technical Reporting: Prepare and maintain detailed records of alignment measurements, adjustments made, and any relevant maintenance or repair activities.

• Equipment Setup and Installation: Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment, ensuring precise alignment to manufacturer specifications.

• Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical engineers, maintenance teams, and production supervisors to minimize equipment downtime and improve operational efficiency.

• Safety Compliance: Ensure all alignment procedures are conducted in compliance with safety regulations and standards to minimize risk to personnel and equipment.

Qualifications & Skills:

1. Educational Background:

o Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

2. Experience:

o Minimum of 2 years of experience in equipment alignment, particularly in the mining industry or a heavy machinery environment.

3. Technical Skills:

o Proficiency in using alignment tools and technologies (e.g., laser alignment systems, dial indicators, micrometers).

o Strong understanding of rotating equipment (conveyors, pumps, motors, etc.) and their operational requirements.

o Knowledge of vibration analysis techniques and tools.

4. Problem-Solving Skills:

o Ability to diagnose alignment issues, troubleshoot effectively, and implement practical solutions.

5. Attention to Detail:

o Precision in measurements and alignment procedures to ensure machinery operates efficiently and safely.

6. Communication Skills:

o Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with teams and report on technical issues.

7. Physical Fitness:

o Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including lifting heavy equipment, working in confined spaces, or standing for long periods.

8. Certifications (Optional but preferred):

o Certification in alignment technologies or related fields.

o Familiarity with safety standards and practices in industrial environments (e.g., OSHA standards).
