Buyer (Supply Chain)

The purpose of this position

Create purchase orders (PO) stock and direct charge with complete support documentation and paperwork timely and accuracy following GSC policies and procedures. Ensure high PO confirmation percentage, low discrepancies issues related to orders, negotiate, and determine PO price change, update the accuracy of all commercial data in ERP system.

Essential Functions

• Process and convert stock and direct charge purchase requisition to purchase orders in a timely manner and ensure the accuracy of supporting paperwork or documentation in accordance with company policies.

• Ensure transmitted PO are received by suppliers, and suppliers provide PO confirmation through Ariba network, GSP or manual.  Then follow up action items required from PO confirmation to ensure PO status confirmed and processed by suppliers.

• Maintain the accuracy record of all Purchase Orders, Material Master, Purchasing Info Record (PIR), Source List (SL), Vendor material master, and material master data to avoid potential discrepancy order

• Research and analyze market trends and recommend strategic solution to maximize savings to review & finalize vendor price adjustment

• Collaborate with key customer in department users, supply chain management, Internal procurement team, and external parties to provide the optimum procurement solutions.

• Perform other duties as assigned

 

The background, education, and work experience needed to succeed in this job are:

Minimum :

Education & Experience

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, business management.

• Minimum 2 years relevant experience in the same field (purchasing, logistics, supply chain, transportation, warehousing, and some field experience with mining equipment)

Knowledge, Skills & Characters

• Supplier Management, Proactive Communication, Time management, Analytical skills, Systems knowledge, Detail oriented, Ability to prioritize, empowered to act and make decisions, Self-starter, Listens well, Problem solver, Multi-tasker, Math skills

Technical Competencies

• Process & organizational knowledge, HS Code, Purchasing terms & condition, Transportation/INCO terms, SAP, Business Objects, Microsoft Suite, Supplier Portal, ARIBA, MDG, Power BI.
