Background

Indonesia, the world’s largest exporter of thermal coal and crude palm oil (CPO), has officially implemented the new shipping regulation since May 1, requiring the use of vessels controlled by national shipping for export of specific goods – including coal and CPO.

Transportation Ministry has applied an online system to implement the Trade Ministerial Regulation No. 40/2020.

Business players previously voiced concerns that the regulation could further hamper the country’s coal and CPO export, which is currently under heavy pressures due to the outbreak of global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The panel discussion webinar presenting speakers from government officials, association and business players would explore issues regarding the official implementation of Permendag 40/2020 since May 1.

What are the challenges facing the implementation of regulation? Is there a special grace period for coal and CPO exporters to delay the implementation of regulation in this Covid-19 pandemic event? The speakers from associations would also share impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the current coal and CPO export as well as the country’s shipping industry.

During the webinar, you will learn about
  • The impact of Corona virus on coal and CPO exports
  • The impact of Corona virus on Indonesia’s shipping industry
  • Online system applied to implement the Permendag 40/2020.
