PGN supplies CNG to E. Java firm

State-owned gas distribution firm PT PGN Tbk through subsidiary PT Gagas Energi Indonesia has recently started supplying compressed natural gas (CNG) to PT Unggul Regantris Digdjoyo (URD), which manufactures various aluminum-based products such as aluminum extrusion profile.
PGN said in a statement issued last week that Gresik, East Java-based URD receives CNG supply at a volume of 30,000 m3 per month.
The company said that at the end of this year, URD will start receiving natural gas supply from PGN via pipeline.
PGN said that URD previously used coal and automotive diesel as source of fuel to support production activity. With the CNG supply, the company has now converted to cleaner gas. URD is also seeking to expand production capacity from currently level of 300 tons per month.
